To the Ethereal Community,

As many of you know, Discovery has been experiencing many problems recently, chiefly that the admin, who had previously slaved to give Discovery updates, has had a change of heart regarding Discovery. After myself and Kyrie were appointed administration duties, Alydis went away to sort life out, in the thought that the staff would be able to keep things running. I admit, I thought the same.

Unfortunately, we were left with a severely crippled GMCP, as many of you who came to me asking for help are aware. With the past updates that Alydis pushed through, the GM team were also severely crippled in the commands that they could perform. Commands that myself and Jackspace had previously had access too, to provide the community with events and support, were stripped from us, not purposely, but they were taken away with the eA update.

We decided to push on, and made best of what we could do with the crippled GMCP. Myself and Kyrie had main access, and due to the nature of the CP, we couldn't even add others to it successfully. Thankfully, Jackspace found a way around it, using the player CP with our admin accounts. So we could again perform checks on IP ranges, player data and gears, which meant we could begin to sort through at least some hacking cases. More often than not, they were solved successfully and without incident.

The DEV team were on standby to push through many updates, and I thank Kirk and Rae for their tireless efforts, as far as we could push them. However, we had not been left with a way to push the updates through the patcher, and so we needed Alydis. After numerous attempts to get in contact with him, we were told that the owners of the server were tired of everything, I say owners, because there were 4 that were footing the bill for Discovery. This is where my information gets a little hazy.

Alydis was originally undecided as to the future of Ethereal, and Fallen was a bit iffy too, but was content if he could pass the server onto someone else to run. Alanus and Kanedo I believe were out at this point. I was told that Alydis recently pulled out, and Fallen has finally decided to close both servers either during or at the end of this month.

I hope everyone enjoyed there time at the server, and I would be pleased if someone would open two topics, 1 to post the goodbye pictures, and another if you wish to leave a goodbye post.

We hope you all enjoyed Ethereal/Discovery, even if it was only at the beginning of its life.
